Cardiovascular risk management: reflections and proposals of the Consulta-SCV

The optimal management of cardiovascular risk is a challenge that has been renewed over the years, due to the incessant advancement of knowledge and the consequent development of new technologies and increasingly effective drugs, capable of tackling and reducing with new approaches and therapeutic combinations even the residual cardiovascular risk. The latter – defined as the probability that the patient manifests a pathological event in the presence of an optimal treatment on the basis of the available clinical-scientific evidence – is an always open problem, despite the attempts made by the attending physician to guarantee therapeutic appropriateness and correct adherence of the patient to chronic therapies.
